Licensing
Docuflair Desktop is licensed as a workstation product, independently of any Docuflair server licence. The licence is obtained online once and bound to the machine; after that the application works without an internet connection. Without a valid licence the application does not start — the licence dialog appears at start-up, and if it is closed without a licence, the application quits.
Product scope
Section titled “Product scope”The licence determines which features are available. The interface hides features that are not licensed.
| Option | Scope |
|---|---|
| Docuflair Redact | Redacting documents |
| Docuflair Mask | Redacting and pseudonymising, including re-identification |
| Scan | The scan tool for capturing, preparing and forwarding scan batches |
Without the Mask option, re-identification, pseudonym actions and alias fields are absent. With a Scan-only licence, the application starts straight in the scan tool.
Obtaining a licence
Section titled “Obtaining a licence”The licence dialog offers three routes under Obtain licence via. The hardware ID at the top of the dialog identifies your machine to the licence server; the Copy button places it on the clipboard for support enquiries.
Redeeming a voucher
Section titled “Redeeming a voucher”- Choose Redeem voucher.
- Enter the user name, company name, email address and the voucher (the code begins with
ba5gi-). - Click Redeem — the licence is retrieved, verified and stored.
The scan tool can only be unlocked with a voucher.
Requesting a demo licence
Section titled “Requesting a demo licence”- Choose Request demo licence.
- Enter the user name, company name and email address, and select Docuflair Redact or Docuflair Mask under Product scope.
- Click Request demo.
The demo is valid for 7 days and unlocks the chosen scope in full. It can be requested only once per computer, and only while no licence yet exists for that machine. During the trial, the application shows a notice at every start and the remaining time in the window title, for example “Trial version (5 days left)”.
Retrieving a licence online
Section titled “Retrieving a licence online”Retrieve licence online → Retrieve fetches the licence stored for this hardware ID on the licence server — for example after a reinstallation, or when your licence has been migrated to the new licence model.
Checking the licence status
Section titled “Checking the licence status”Help → Licence… shows the current status:

Current licence lists the status (valid, trial version, expired and so on), the edition and the unlocked features (redaction, pseudonymisation, scan tool). For a demo licence, a notice shows the remaining time. Expand the Current licence entry below it for the full licence data (holder, expiry date, licence type). “Obtain a different licence…” opens the three routes again — for a renewal or an extension of the scope, for instance.
Error messages when obtaining a licence
Section titled “Error messages when obtaining a licence”| Message | Cause and remedy |
|---|---|
| “The voucher was not found.” | Check the code — it begins with ba5gi-. |
| “This voucher has already been redeemed.” | Each voucher is valid only once. On the machine that is already licensed, use Retrieve licence online. |
| “A licence has already been issued for this computer.” | Use Retrieve licence online rather than a demo. |
| “No licence is stored on the licence server for this hardware ID.” | Redeem a voucher or request a demo licence. |
| “The licence server cannot be reached.” | Check the internet connection; on a company network, configure the proxy if necessary. |
