Your tenant needs a valid, hardware-bound licence. Without one the tenant is blocked: after signing in, users see only the “No valid licence” page, API access is refused, and background processing pauses. The licence also determines the feature scope: redaction (Docuflair Redact), pseudonymisation (Docuflair Mask), Archive, DMS, plus the page quota per year and the maximum number of users.

As a tenant administrator you can apply and renew the licence yourself — the Licence page (/admin/license) is the only one that remains reachable while the tenant is blocked. Removing a licence is reserved for the system administrator.

Licence self-service with the hardware ID, licence string and current licence

  1. Copy the hardware ID: the “Your tenant’s hardware ID” card shows the identifier formed from your tenant and the server hardware — use “Copy” to put it on the clipboard.
  2. Request the licence: send the hardware ID to your vendor; the licence issued is bound to exactly that ID.
  3. Enter the licence string: paste the string you receive (Base64) into the “Enter licence string” card and click “Save & verify”. Alternatively use “Upload licence file” (.lic/.txt, max. 64 KB) or — where your vendor has set it up — “Retrieve online”.

Once applied successfully, the message “The licence is valid. Reload the application to unlock all features.” appears, with the “Reload application” button.

The “Current licence” card shows the status as a badge — Valid (green), Expired (yellow), Wrong hardware ID / wrong tenant (yellow, with an “Expected”/“In licence” comparison), Invalid signature (red), Invalid format (red) or No licence stored (grey) — along with the “Licensed features” table and the “Licence data” (including the expiry date).

The “Page consumption” block shows “x of y pages used, z remaining” with a progress bar (yellow from 75%, red from 90%). Every page that leaves the system in a usable version is counted — downloads of originals and repeated retrievals of the same version are free of charge. You reach the detailed counting log through “View counting log” (see the chapter “History”).
