Downloading and exporting
Downloading a single document
Section titled “Downloading a single document”The Download menu in the viewer toolbar offers several variants, depending on the document and your permissions:

- Original (the source file) · PDF (the unedited PDF rendition) · Original edited (redactions and pseudonyms in the original format,
.docxfor example) · PDF (edited). - The options at the top: Searchable (OCR) (an invisible text layer for scanned documents), file metadata (Docuflair metadata / delete all / pseudonymise / keep) and file names on export (original / apply the dictionary / neutral name).
- The download is prepared on the server (“Preparing…”) and then starts automatically.
Which variants you see is governed by the download level of your role: Full (original), PDF only, Redacted only or No download.
Exporting a selection and a project
Section titled “Exporting a selection and a project”- Export selection (n) in the folder browser packs the marked documents as a ZIP — with the same options (Edited/Original mode, target PDF format including PDF/A, OCR, metadata, file names, folder structure).
- The project export (
…/export, step 4 of the stepper) exports the whole project or a folder:

There are three tabs: Settings (mode, target format, OCR — note that OCR increases the export duration considerably — “Export approved documents only”, “Keep the folder structure”), Export area (the result folders of previous runs) and History (every export job with its status and download link; finished ZIPs are available for a limited time, and remain in the export area afterwards). As a user you export through Download (ZIP); server target paths are reserved for administrators.
