Redacting
Redacting words directly in the document
Section titled “Redacting words directly in the document”In the Redaction tool, every recognised word is clickable. The click logic (also available as a help dialog through the ? in the panel header):

| Modifier | Left click | Right click |
|---|---|---|
| — | Redact the word document-specifically | Exclude the word document-specifically |
| Shift | Word into the project dictionary | Word into the project exception list |
| Ctrl | Collect several words and redact them together (on release) | Exclude several words together |
| Ctrl+Shift | Relation (word sequence) into the project dictionary | Relation into the project exception list |
The distinction matters:
- Document-specific applies only in the current document (the “Document-specific” section in the panel).
- Dictionary entries apply project-wide in all documents — with a Shift click, the entry automatically receives a typo tolerance, so that OCR variants (“Musterrnann”) are matched too.
- Exceptions protect terms from redaction (your own company name, for example); words redacted manually always take precedence.
In the panel you can additionally manage entries through quick entry (“Add word…” / “Add exception…”) and edit them inline (pattern, type, tolerance, style). The Style section determines the rendering: Filled (with a choice of colour), Highlight or Blur.
Redacting areas
Section titled “Redacting areas”The Area redaction tool covers freely drawn rectangles — signatures, stamps or letterheads, for instance: activate “Draw area”, drag a rectangle on the page, and that is it. Clicking an entry in the panel list jumps to the area concerned; areas you have drawn can be moved with the mouse. For recurring positions (every page, or particular pages), your project team defines area rules (…/area-rules).
