Document editor

The document editor lets you revise archived documents afterwards. You can rotate, remove or reorder pages, or change metadata (keywords or the category, for instance). That way you correct mistakes made during archiving without having to scan the document again.

The document editor opens when you edit a document in the archive under Archive > Document search.

Permission required

To access this function you need the following permission:

  • Full control (AdminUI_FullControl)

Permissions are granted through groups — see permissions – overview.

The editor offers various tools for displaying and editing archived documents.

  • Preview — displays the document with zoom and navigation functions
  • Metadata — displays and edits the document’s properties and tags
  • Drawing — drawing tools for annotations and markings directly in the document
  • Settings — the editor’s display settings

The document preview shows the document page by page. The navigation bar lets you move between pages.

In the Metadata area you edit the properties assigned to the document:

  • The directory assignment
  • Tags and categories
  • Custom metadata fields

The drawing tools let you add annotations:

  • Freehand drawing
  • Text boxes
  • Markings and highlights
  • Stamps

Here you adjust display options such as zoom, the page view and the background colour.
