Troubleshooting in Docuflair

If Docuflair does not work as expected, the log files and the log level help you find out what went wrong. The more detailed the log level, the more information is recorded. You can also send that information to support to get help quickly.

Docuflair records information about the execution of every program function in log files. The log files are created when the services start and are deleted automatically after several days. Separate log files are created for each area of the application, and you can adjust the level of logging with the LogLevel.exe application. You start LogLevel.exe directly from an instance’s .\bin subdirectory, through the command line or through the Windows Start menu.

The LogLevel.exe application

In the Application drop-down menu you select the service to configure. Then you set the logging level you want with Level.

The following log levels are available:

Level Description
Verbose The most detailed logging; can reduce execution speed considerably
Debug Relatively detailed logging with a great deal of information about the internal program flow. Can affect execution speed in some circumstances
Information Informative logging with the important information about the program flow. Can affect execution speed in some circumstances
Warning Warnings and every error level above them. The default setting, which has barely any effect on system performance
Error Logs only errors and the serious system errors above them
Fatal A minimal log file. Only serious system errors are recorded

Please note that after changing a log level for an application you have to restart the reconfigured Docuflair instance under Services in the Windows operating system.

In Docuflair you can analyse the content of the various log files under Help/Log files, filtered by log level, without having to access the file system.

If you need technical support in using Docuflair, the Support request function lets you submit a description of the problem together with the log files to Administrator.at. To be able to select this function you have to be signed in to Docuflair, as described under signing in.
