Permissions are granted through groups — see permissions – overview.

The dialog for creating a group

There are four different kinds, depending on how a group is to be used:

  • User
A user group with no properties.

  • Group
Groups can be used to control permissions, functions and prices. Where the job accounting is switched on for a group, you can store an alternative price list that is then used for those users. At most one group with the job accounting switched on should be added per user.

  • Cost centre
Cost centres have to be chosen when the user signs in. The job accounting is always active for cost centres, and different price lists can be stored per cost centre. A user can be assigned to several cost centres; one of them can be stored as the default.

  • Location
Locations can be stored on devices.

The name of the group has to be unique.

The description field serves fuller documentation and keeps things clear where a great many groups exist.

Where the job accounting has been switched on for a group, you can store an additional price list for calculating the cost of jobs.

For cost centres that option is always switched on automatically.
