Editing a storage location

To edit an existing storage location, click the entry you want under System > Storage locations.

Permission required

To access this function you need the following permission:

  • Edit storage location (AdminUI_StorageManagement_EditStorage)

Permissions are granted through groups — see permissions – overview.

The editing dialog is the same as the creation dialog. Every field can be adjusted later.

Function Description
Name A unique name for the storage location.
Description An optional description.
Mode The kind of storage location (local, network, FTP, WebDAV, Office 365 and so on). Different fields are shown depending on the mode.
Path The path to the storage location (a UNC path, a URL or a local folder, for example).
User name The sign-in name for access to the storage location.
Password The password for the authentication.
Domain The domain for the authentication (on network storage locations).
User sign-in Allows users to enter credentials of their own at the device.
Save the password Allows user passwords for the storage location to be saved.
Different mandatory fields are shown depending on the mode chosen. Office 365, for example, additionally requires a client ID and a tenant ID.

The Test button is how you check the connection to the storage location. The result shows the number of directories and files found.

For every storage location you determine whether it is to be available for the following functions on multifunction printers:

  • Scanning — switches the storage location on as a scan destination. The scan options (the colour mode, the resolution and so on) can be configured individually.
  • Printing — switches the storage location on as a print source. The print options can be configured individually.
  • Photos — switches the storage location on for photo printing. The photo options can be configured individually.

For storage locations with the scan function switched on, you can download a QR code separator sheet. It makes it possible to scan straight into the storage location through a QR code.
