User settings

The user settings are global defaults that apply to every user in the system — the sign-in options, the session length or the default language, for example. Individual settings can be overridden per user where needed.

You reach the user settings through the menu navigation under System > User management and a click on the second tab, Settings.

Setting Description
Enable user registration Allows new users to register by themselves through the sign-in page. With the option switched off, only administrators can set new user accounts up.
Release users by hand after registration When switched on, users newly registered first have to be released by an administrator before they can sign in. The user has the status Pending until the release takes place.
Email confirmation after registration When switched on, a user newly registered has to verify their email address through a confirmation link before the account is unlocked.
Forgotten your password? When switched on, a Forgotten your password? link is shown on the sign-in page. Users can request a new password by email through it.
Delete your own user account When switched on, users can delete their own account by themselves.
Enable user sign-in tracking When switched on, every sign-in by a user is recorded. That makes it possible to track when and where users signed in.
