Job accounting on Xerox
The job accounting records automatically what costs print and copy jobs on Xerox devices incur. You can allocate those costs per user and per cost centre — for internal billing between departments, for example.
Docuflair offers a great many different ways of representing the job accounting.
Job accounting through the printer driver
Section titled “Job accounting through the printer driver”This variant is of interest for Xerox multifunction printers where print jobs are delivered directly. Before a print job is sent, a popup appears in which you can supply information about the user and the cost centre. The values entered are supplied in the XPIF header of the print job and interpreted correctly by the Xerox multifunction device through the Docuflair network job accounting. This possibility is particularly relevant where several people use the same computer under the same user account. By entering the details in the popup, the settings of the user actually signed in are ignored; you can also use cost centres.
The printer driver
Section titled “The printer driver”To switch the popup on, make the following settings:
In the Windows print management (Windows+R, printmanagement.msc), open the properties of the Xerox printer driver you want. Using the Xerox Global Print Driver is recommended.

On the Configuration tab, under Accounting, change the system to Xerox network accounting.

You can also determine whether what is entered is hidden (***) or shown in plain text.

From now on, a popup appears before every print job is delivered to those printers. To be able to continue, you have to give the information.

To identify the user, enter either the sign-in name stored in Docuflair or — where you know it — the unique identifier (createId) of the user you want. For the cost centre number, enter either the name of the group of the type cost centre or its unique identifier (createId).
