Printing with the Print Agent

Print from any application as usual through File → Print and select the printer FollowYou (or the name your IT department assigned). The job is accepted locally, uploaded to the Docuflair server and waits there to be released.

To print it, sign in at a multifunction printer as usual and release the job — just like any other pull print job.

Finished files (PDFs, for example) can also be transferred without going through the printer driver — the file then arrives on the server unchanged and in its original quality:

  • Right-click the file → Send to Docuflair
  • Send to → Docuflair (Windows)
  • Drag and drop the file into the app’s status window

The status window (click the icon in the notification area) shows every job with its current state:

Status Meaning
Captured The job has been accepted locally.
Waiting The job is in the queue for upload.
Uploading The transfer to the server is running.
Uploaded The transfer is complete — sign in at the printer and release the document.
Sign-in required There is no valid sign-in; the app opens the sign-in window automatically.
Retrying The transfer failed (a network problem, for instance) and is retried automatically at growing intervals — up to a maximum wait of 10 minutes. The next attempt is displayed.
Device blocked An administrator has blocked this device; the job is not transferred (see signing in).
Cancelled You cancelled the job, or it could not be read.

Actions are available next to every job: Retry restarts the upload immediately, and Cancel discards the job. Remove completed clears finished jobs from the list — which also deletes the locally cached copies of the documents.

  • A single job may be no larger than 256 MB.
  • The Print Agent detects the print format (PDF, PostScript, PCL) automatically and takes the document name from the print job.
  • You change the app’s language (German/English) in the settings; by default it follows the system language.
