Scanning with Docuflair
Docuflair supports a variety of scan destinations and scan variants.
With the Scan: address book function you scan directly to contacts stored beforehand in one or more address books.
For the automated processing of scans, the quick scan and workflow scan functions are a good fit. With a quick scan you print separator sheets with QR codes in advance that already contain the scan destination. That lets you place a stack of documents with different destinations into the multifunction device; splitting them into individual jobs and selecting the destinations then happens automatically, based on the QR codes detected.
Scan: storage location lets you browse directory structures and file scanned documents straight into a target folder.
Workflow scan uses workflows configured in the administration interface, which among other things recognise text and barcodes and deliver the documents to one or more fixed destinations.
Scan options
Section titled “Scan options”When scanning a document at the multifunction printer, various scan options are available. Depending on the job type, the administrator can block or hide individual functions. The scan options appear in a horizontal bar at the top of the screen. Tapping an option opens a dialog in which you choose the setting you want.

| Function | Description |
|---|---|
| Colour mode | Determines the colour mode: you choose between colour, greyscale and black and white. Colour scans can produce considerably larger scan jobs and lengthen the processing time. |
| File format | Offers a choice from the configured file formats. Not available when scanning into workflows, because the file format is determined by the workflow’s output. |
| Sides | Specifies whether the document is scanned single-sided or double-sided. |
| Orientation | Determines whether the original is in portrait or landscape format. |
| Review | After the transfer to the server, shows a preview of every page so that you can check the scanned document directly on the multifunction printer’s screen. |
| Batch mode | With batch mode enabled, the scan job pauses after the last page has been read and waits for further pages to scan. |
| Confirmation | Active for fax contacts only: prints a fax confirmation. |
| Specifies whether a copy is produced on the multifunction printer immediately during the scan. | |
| Paper size | Determines the page size of the original. |
| Contrast | Changes the contrast of the document being scanned. |
| Brightness | Changes the brightness of the document being scanned. |
| Resolution | Determines the resolution a document is scanned at. A higher resolution can lead to larger files and slower processing. |
| Rotation | Rotates the scanned pages (by 90° or 180°, for example). Useful when originals are not placed in the standard orientation. |
| Compression | Determines the compression level for the scanned document. Higher compression reduces the file size but can impair image quality. |
| Blank pages | Determines whether blank pages are detected and removed automatically. |
Review
Section titled “Review”The review lets you check the scan quality directly on the multifunction printer’s screen. At the same time it ensures that the documents have already been transferred to the Docuflair server.

Release releases the document for further processing. If the quality is not satisfactory, cancel processing with Discard and repeat the scan with different settings.
With the Blank pages option enabled, blank pages that are detected are marked in the review. You can remove them manually before releasing.
Batch mode
Section titled “Batch mode”Batch mode lets you split a large document into several individual batches and scan them with different settings.

Tap Scan to add another batch. After the last batch has been read, choose Finish to submit the whole scan job to Docuflair for processing. This option can be combined with the review.
Cost display
Section titled “Cost display”If the administrator has enabled the cost display, you see the expected costs after scanning. The costs are calculated separately for colour, greyscale and black-and-white pages.
